Bianca’s Story
Bianca Long, a proud Djaru woman from Halls Creek, Western Australia, transitioned from a career in mining, oil, and gas to becoming an accomplished Aboriginal artist. Her art journey began in the Pilbara at the Yinjaa-Barni Arts Centre, where she refined her skills. Bianca's contemporary paintings blend natural ochre and acrylics, reflecting her Aboriginal identity and heritage. Each piece depicts the landscapes of her homeland, showcasing rivers, creeks, grasses, and flowers. Her dedication to her culture is evident in her work, making her a notable figure among Aboriginal artists.
Bianca's art is a testament to her deep connection to the land and cultural heritage. Her paintings have been featured in exhibitions and transformed into Indigenous Australian jewellery, scarves, ties, and murals. Now living in Wyndham, she continues to work on her fashion range that includes Aboriginal clothing and accessories. Through her work in Indigenous Australian art, Bianca honours her elders and celebrates the rich cultural history of her people, making it accessible to a wider audience. Her creations in Aboriginal accessories and clothing blend tradition and modernity, creating pieces that are both meaningful and beautiful.
